Commercial boss named: Zurich makes new promise to brokers
Brokers have been promised that they can expect to see even more focus on propositions and relationships from Zurich after the insurer appointed New Zealand general manager Adrian Riminton to the role of executive general manger commercial - Australia.

Riminton replaces Bobby Lehane who stepped down last month. Riminton will retain ongoing oversight of the New Zealand operations while running the Australian operation. He will be responsible for Zurich Financial Services' SME and commercial insurance segment.

Meanwhile, NZ underwriting manager Christina Chellew will be the NZ acting general manager.

CEO Daniel Fogarty said of Riminton: “We are delighted that Adrian is taking on this role. He is an active and highly valued member of our executive team. I have no doubt that he will drive the best outcomes in our broader SME and middle market commercial business in Australia and New Zealand.

“I am excited to be leading such a strong team into the future. With Adrian as EGM commercial and Giles Crowley as EGM global corporate along with others in the executive, brokers can expect to see even more focus on our propositions and relationships.”

Riminton, who will move back to Sydney in due course, joined Zurich in 2010. He is a qualified lawyer and has has a 20 year background in financial services in Australia and New Zealand. The last 12 years have been in insurance.

Zurich said he recently guided the New Zealand business through the post-earthquake market challenges.
