A Sydney-based insurance brokerage, insurance underwriting agency, and IT company has announced the appointment of a new company secretary.
 
Ensurance Limited’s Samir Hallab will embark on a new role as company secretary, in addition to his role as chief financial officer, after the resignation of joint secretaries Jay Stephenson and Julia Becket, effective January 31.

Hallab is a chartered accountant, registered auditor, and tax agent with more than 30 years of experience in the financial sector, in both executive and board positions, as well as in risk management and compliance.
 
He was a partner with Sydney accounting firm Sothertons for more than a decade, and was deputy CEO at the Australian Catholic Superannuation and Retirement Fund (ACSRF) for more than 12 years. Concurrent to his role as deputy CEO for ACSRF, Hallab was also COO, CFO, and company secretary to the trustee company.
 
Hallab was also a member of the National Sothertons Group board of directors and was secretary of the audit and risk management committee of ACSRF.
