Ex-IAG executives George Lewis, Foo Xin, and Phil Wilson-Brown have founded and launched a new pet insurance company in Australia.

The pet insurer, Fetch, has a subscription and accompany app that brings together insurance, prevention, insights, and rewards to simplify pet health and help Australian pets thrive. It is backed by local and international investors, including AirTree, vets, insurance CEOs, pet retailers, brand and marketing experts, start-up founders, and tech leaders.

Aside from being co-founder of Fetch, Lewis is the head of product, Foo Xin the CTO, and Wilson-Brown the CEO.

Features

A brand-new pet insurer, Fetch offers:

  • $30,000 cover, with no sub-limits and inc. dental, physio, and behavioural;
  • easy-to-understand cover in-app;
  • No wait periods at sign up;
  • upfront vet checks to ensure pets are covered before claims;
  • direct pay from insurer to vet for treatments; and
  • 24/7 vet support.

“We love our pets, and some (mine) are the most spoilt family member! We want the best for them, but it costs, and sometimes it’s a big cost! It’s putting a huge strain on not just pet parents, but our vets. Insurance should be the answer,” Lewis said on LinkedIn. “A huge shoutout to all the pet parents, vets, and pet experts who helped us shape Fetch. Big thanks to our investors inc. our lead AirTree, our awesome underwriters at Pacific International Insurance (AU/NZ), and our superstar team!”

Major online pet marketplace Gumtree also recently entered the Australian pet insurance market.
