Commercial and industrial property insurer FM Global had its A+ (Superior) financial strength rating and “Stable” outlook affirmed by A.M. Best.

The rating also applies to the company’s affiliates, FM Insurance Europe, FM Insurance Company, Affiliated FM Insurance Company (AFM), and Appalachian Insurance Company.

The ratings agency said FM Global is “a well-run organisation” with “a strong and experienced management team that has plenty of depth,” and that the rating reflects the mutual insurance company’s “balance sheet strength” that “has demonstrated an ability to withstand catastrophes year-over-year.”

A.M. Best also noted that FM Global has a “strong operating performance, favorable business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management.”
