Former CGU man joins marine insurance underwriter

A highly experienced development manager and an underwriter have been appointed to the underwriter's team.

Marine insurance underwriter Nautilus Marine Insurance has appointed former CGU broker development manager Philip de Niet to undertake a similar role for the company.


de Niet, pictured right, was most recently account manager at IC Frith & Associates. His ten years’ experience includes underwriting and BDM roles at CGU, where he spent five years.


“I am extremely excited to be joining the Nautilus team and looking forward to being able to offer their market leading products to intermediaries.”


Wendy Back, pictured below, has joined Nautilus as an underwriter. She was formerly a broker assistant for the Australian Medical Association, where she spent just under three years.


Back brings with her a total of 27 years’ experience to the role.Her experience includes working for FAI Perth, Countrywide Insurance Broker and Club Marine


A spokesman for Nautilus said: “We are extremely lucky to have Wendy as a member of our WA team. Her experience in the insurance industry will be a great asset to Nautilus Marine, and our Western Australian customers.”
