Fusion expands presence in Asia

Insurance News

Fusion Financial Lines, a specialty insurer owned by the POP Group, has expanded its presence in Asia by solidifying strategic partnerships with industry leaders Antares, Beazley, and Everest.

The collaboration is set to enhance Fusion's suite of insurance solutions tailored specifically for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Partnerships

Under these partnerships, the three underwriters – Antares, Beazley, and Everest – will provide essential support for Fusion's management liability, professional liability, and investment managers insurance offerings.

Fusion's standalone directors and officers (D&O) liability insurance, accessible through their proprietary online platform, will benefit from the expertise of these well-established leaders. The focus remains on ensuring SME clients receive comprehensive coverage across financial lines.

Another development is the imminent availability of Fusion's investment managers insurance offering, catering to fund managers overseeing under US$1 billion funds. This product will soon be accessible online.

Asian countries covered

Regarding geographical coverage in Asia, Fusion has secured authorisation to directly underwrite policies for entities domiciled in:

  • Hong Kong SAR
  • Singapore
  • Cayman
  • BVI
  • Bermuda
  • Mauritius

Furthermore, Fusion is authorised to underwrite policies for entities domiciled in Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam on a reinsurance basis.

Available capacity

In terms of capacity, Fusion's maximum lines are defined as follows:

  • management liability: US$7.5 million / S$11.25 million / HK$60 million (with a maximum of S$5 million / HK$40 million online)

The distribution of products through proprietary online platform, io.insure, signifies a significant step forward in Fusion's plans for digital underwriting and the delivery of SME financial lines products in the Asian market.
