A specialist insurance law firm has strengthened its workplace practice with a new appointment.

Philip Duffy has joined Gilchrist Connell’s Melbourne office as principal, bringing more than two decades of industry experience, with a keen focus on workplace law that has seen him develop a strong practice around WorkCover, OH&S, and general employment law.

“Client demand has seen us grow exponentially since day one. We’re now at the point where we’ve had to bring Philip on board earlier than expected and have him hit the ground running – fast,” said Joel Zyngier, national head of the firm’s workplace practice. “He has earned an excellent reputation for navigating complex issues arising from these constantly evolving areas of law and will be a very welcome addition to our dedicated and hardworking team.”

Duffy was most recently principal at WARD Lawyers. He also worked at Brian Ward & Partners, Aitken Partners, and Macpherson and Kelley Lawyers.
