In conjunction with its new staff volunteering policy, a specialist national insurance law firm has partnered up with an innovative online platform to help make a difference to those in need.

Gilchrist Connell is the first law firm to join the ranks of Australian companies that are in business partnership with Goodcompany, a holistic charitable institution that empowers businesses and their staff to support over 1,500 charities.

So far, Goodcompany has donated over 176,000 volunteer hours and raised almost $7.5 million for charity.

The partnership will allow Gilchrist Connell’s staff across Australia to volunteer their time and skills to a charity close to their heart, and for the charities to gain access to professional skills that would otherwise be beyond their reach.

“This is a very positive partnership, as it offers the opportunity for every one of our 100+ staff at Gilchrist Connell to be part of a fantastic giving program,” said Richard Wood, the firm’s managing principal.

“Social awareness is an important part of our culture, and it was our staff who initiated this relationship, a progressive and practical way for us to offer time and skills where it’s needed and wouldn’t otherwise be available.”

“We look forward to sharing our skills and working hands-on to help make a difference,” Wood added.
