Advance has announced the opening of nominations for the 2015 Advance Global Australian Awards and is looking for innovative insurance professionals for nominations.

As one of Australia’s largest global networks, “the award reflects Australian’s who have done amazing things while living overseas, or have since returned,” a statement from the organisation said.

The winners will be honoured at the Sydney Opera House on 14 September and nominations will be judged by a group of global industry leaders with a specific eye for innovation.

Judges will also recognise leadership, entrepreneurship and general excellence in a chosen field.

A former winner of the award believes the prestige that the award brings is great for business in Australia and around the world.

“Winning the Advance Global Australian of the Year Award 2014 and in my industry category, Advanced Manufacturing, greatly strengthened my ties back to Australia, and made me think a lot more about how I can help my industry back home.

“Seeing that what I was doing had relevance to other Australians, and could also inspire them to do similar things, is a great motivator for me too,” Christopher Boshuizen, co-founder and CTO of Planet Labs Inc, said.

Non-executive director of IAG, Yasmin Allen, will take a seat on the judging panel as will executives from IBM, Saatchi & Saatchi and Suntech Power.

Nominations close on February 18 and can be submitted here.
