Guy Carpenter has named David Priebe as chairman of the company, in a bid to further its growth strategy.

In his new role, Priebe will continue to report to Guy Carpenter president and CEO Peter Hearn and remain a member of the company’s executive committee. As chairman, Priebe will work with Hearn to oversee the integration of Guy Carpenter and JLT Re following Marsh & McLennan’s acquisition of the latter in April. He will collaborate with Guy Carpenter North America CEO John Trace to support clients in the region.

Priebe will also continue to oversee Guy Carpenter’s recently established Global Capital Solutions group – a team created to bring together the capital markets and M&A advisory capacities of GC Securities and Global Risk Solutions.

He has held various leadership roles at Guy Carpenter since joining in 1981. In fact, Priebe was most recently vice chairman of the company.

“For decades, David has worked tirelessly to elevate Guy Carpenter’s reputation across the globe. He is a true client champion and has dedicated his career to helping Guy Carpenter identify client needs and develop and deliver solutions that help them profitably grow,” commented Hearn.

“For the last several decades I have focused on advancing Guy Carpenter in the eyes of clients, markets and colleagues,” remarked Priebe. “I am honored to be named chairman and am excited to continue to shape the future of the firm as we focus on helping our clients and colleagues grow.”
