IAG has announced the retirement of Jackie Johnson, group executive of people, performance, and reputation and a member of the company’s group leadership team, effective June 30.

Johnson has been with the company for 18 years and has served in a number of executive roles across most areas of the company’s business. She established IAG’s first online startup business, The Buzz, in 2009, and was CEO of IAG’s New Zealand business from 2010-2016.

“In her current role as group executive of people, performance, and reputation, Jacki has been instrumental in bringing our purpose to life and in repositioning IAG as a leader in taking action on climate change. She has created a powerful and enduring legacy,” said Peter Harmer, IAG managing director and CEO. “I am pleased Jacki will continue to support IAG on some specific projects, and that she plans to continue with her existing non-executive director responsibilities outside IAG.”

Johnson will also continue as co-chair of the global steering committee for the United Nations Environment Programme – Finance Initiative “where she will have the opportunity to continue to champion a more sustainable and safer world,” Harmer said.

IAG will make an internal and external executive search for a suitable replacement for Johnson’s portfolio.
