The ICA has congratulated Prime Minister-elect Tony Abbott on selecting Senator Arthur Sinodinos as Assistant Treasurer.

ICA CEO Rob Whelan said the appointment comes at an important time for the industry and the wider Australian community.

“Senator Sinodinos has an enviable record in business and in politics,” he said, “and the general insurance sector looks forward to building on the positive relationship it developed with the Coalition over the past few years.”

The ICA also congratulated Senator Mathias Cormann on his appointment as Finance Minister after serving as Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Financial Services and Superannuation.
