Insurer scores double win with claims awards

An insurance giant has been recognised for its claims service with two major consumer awards.

QBE has won CANSTAR’s ‘outstanding claims service’ and ‘outstanding value car insurance awards’ in the same year.

CANSTAR compared 61 car insurance policies from 42 insurers on the basis of price, features, claims service and customer satisfaction, before settling on QBE.

The award for ‘outstanding value car insurance’ is based on a combination of features and benefits, price and customer satisfaction for seven different driver profiles. QBE said it was the only insurer to be awarded five stars in two of the seven profiles.

The ‘outstanding claims service’ award was based on customers’ overall claims experience with their insurer, including ease of the claims lodgement process, speed of response, quality and timeliness of the repair and communication during the process. CANSTAR also asked motorists how satisfied they were with the claims experience and their likelihood of renewing with their current insurer.

The insurer says it is the first insurer to win both awards in the same year.

 “We’re delighted to receive this award for the second year in a row,” George Katsogiannis, executive general manager, claims, said. “It’s a real testament to the dedication and commitment to our customers during their time of need, and an absolute credit to our claims teams that QBE has again outperformed the industry, achieving the highest claims satisfaction score in Australia.”
