Insurer wins national award for customer service

An Australian insurer has picked up a prestigious award for the quality of its customer service.

CGU has been named Australia’s best customer experience company of 2014 in the inaugural Best Customer Experience List of Australia.

The awards, hosted by customer experience consultancy 5th Quadrant, recognise the best customer experience in the country and CGU won the most coveted award.

CGU won the award based on three components: the scale of its customer experience initiatives as evaluated by the awards’ judging panel, votes in a poll of consumers and adherence to the 5th Quadrant CX Maturity Audit assessment.

Chief commercial officer for CGU, Ben Bessell, said the company was delighted to be recognised for its customer experience as the company prides itself on its work alongside consumers.

“We have been supporting our customers for more than 160 years and excellent customer service is key to our business. We will continue to improve our customer experience by getting the basics right and also investing in customer insights and technology, so we can help our customers see it through when they need us the most.”
