There is a new partner at Kennedys in Australia.

The global insurance law giant has announced that Anjali Woodford (pictured) has stepped up to partner level – her promotion becoming effective at the turn of the month.

Experienced as a healthcare and medical malpractice practitioner, Woodford joined the firm back in 2018 as a special counsel and worked alongside partner Cindy Tucker with the healthcare team in Melbourne. During her tenure she has represented insurers, health professionals and medical practitioners, among others, across disciplinary investigations, civil law injury claims and coronial investigations and inquests.

According to Matt Andrews, managing partner of Kennedys in Australia, her promotion is indicative of the firm putting the emphasis on its brightest talents having clear routes to progress in their careers.

“Anjali has shown that she has the expertise, professionalism and importantly the strong endorsement of her clients, to take the step up,” he said.

“It’s wonderful to be able to support internal promotions and I am very pleased to welcome Anjali to the partnership.”

The company has actually announced a total of 13 partner promotions this week, including that of Woodford – a further eight are based in the UK, with the other four being in the US.
