Marsh has appointed Nick Horton as its senior claims advocate, a newly-created role responsible for the development of claims settlement strategies for major and complex property and casualty claims in Australia.

Horton has over 21 years of industry experience, having held senior claims roles at Suncorp and RSA Group. After an initial period as a Lloyd's insurance broker, he moved to Australia to focus on management roles in insurance underwriting, reinsurance, and claims.

Horton will commence in his role on January 02 and report to Luke Stratford, the head of claims solutions at Marsh, Pacific.

Commenting on the appointment, Stratford said: “In uncertain economic times, it is imperative that clients have their claims paid expeditiously. As someone who has worked on many of the largest and most complicated claims in the Australian insurance market over much of the last two decades, Nick will be an asset to our clients as they seek swift resolutions from insurers.”
