A boutique law firm that provides legal advice in insurance law, health law, corporate, and commercial law has appointed a new CEO, to drive its strategic direction.

Gerard Milne will become CEO of Meridian Lawyers starting Sept. 02, bringing more than 20 years of commercial experience across Australia and international markets to the newly created role.

Milne’s “track record in business operations, expansion, and driving strategy is impressive,” said Paul Baker, Meridian’s managing director. “The Meridian board, our shareholders, principals, and our staff are excited to welcome him aboard. Gerard was chosen in a competitive selection process from a pool of strong candidates. His commercial acumen coupled with his focus on collaborative solutions, innovation, and diversity make him a standout talent.”

The firm said Milne’s appointment marks a new chapter in Meridian’s 15-year history.

“The inclusion of Gerard as CEO, as part of our leadership team, enables me to refocus my energies on the areas where I believe I can provide the greatest value to the business,” said Baker, who has led the firm since inception in 2004. “In particular, in ensuring our service delivery model is aligned with what our clients need to succeed in the future and targeting new opportunities for growth.”
