MLC Life Insurance (MLC) has announced several new appointments in its retail distribution team as it builds its partnership credentials with licensees and advisers for 2022.

Angela Reinmouth, the new national licensee manager at MLC, has more than 25 years of financial services experience covering life insurance, wealth management, and banking. Before joining MLC, she was a national strategic account manager at Zurich/OnePath, where she was responsible for helping licensees and advisers develop strategies to drive mutual business growth in a challenging and changing market. She has also held several adviser-facing and leadership roles at Zurich/OnePath and most recently completed a contract role with AIA.

In her new role, Reinmouth will be responsible for managing key licensee accounts across Australia and work closely with Dinah Munro as the life insurer extends its coverage across national and state-based licensee firms.

Jason Perrotto, the new adviser partnership manager for New South Wales (NSW), has been in the financial services industry for more than 13 years, with roles in banking, financial planning, wealth management, and life insurance. Before joining MLC, he was a BDM at Asteron Life.

Like Perrotto, Kirsten Galvin, the new adviser partnership manager for Victoria, has been in the financial services industry for a long time – 20 years across paraplanning, advice practices, adviser services, and sales at organisations including IOOF, TAL, and Zurich/OnePath. Most recently, she was a life/risk BDM at OnePath/Zurich. Previously, she was the relationship manager for offshoring specialist VA Platinum, a company that specialises in providing financial services practices with administration and paraplanning staff located offshore.

Joining Galvin in Victoria is new adviser partnership manager Arthur Tsimbouris, who has over 17 years of experience in financial services and wealth management, including 11 years as a senior financial adviser at Westpac/BT and AMP Groups. Most recently, he was a platform BDM at ANZ OnePath/IOOF and helped many advice businesses benefit from his personal experiences as a planner.

Michael Downey, the general manager of retail distribution partnerships at MLC, has welcomed the four new hires “delightedly,” adding: “We are keen to hit the ground running next year as we build on our partnership credentials. They are all highly experienced insurance industry professionals with a passion for improving our partnerships with advisers and licensees and will strengthen our team immensely.”

The latest announcement follows the appointment of Mark Puli as MLC's new chief group insurance officer, effective in late January 2022.

Puli has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, with expertise including superannuation, investment platforms, funds management, strategy, and product development. Most recently, he was the CEO at ESSSuper, a position he held since 2011 after initially joining the fund in 2009 as chief financial officer. He had also held senior roles at Aviva Australia, Merrill Lynch Investment Management, and Mercer.

In November, MLC also had an appointment spree in its retail distribution team to provide better partnership support to licensees and advisers. The new hires are:

  • Lee Cheesman, who joined the group 20-years-ago when he moved to Australia from the UK, is the new head of retail distribution governance and key accounts; and
  • Justine Marquet, who has over 25 years of experience in the life insurance industry and recently took the position of senior manager of retail distribution strategy, enablement, and capability (secondment) at MLC.
