Rapidly growing law firm Moray & Agnew has appointed Jonathan Sumskas as a new partner in its domestic building insurance team.

Sumskas (pictured) started his legal career at Moray & Agnew. He has extensive experience assisting domestic building, professional indemnity (PI), and directors and officers (D&O) insurers by advising on policy coverage and defending claims. He also acts directly for contractors, developers, and other stakeholders in construction and property disputes. Across his practice, he is particularly interested in complex construction claims. As a new partner, he will be based in the firm's Melbourne office.

Moray & Agnew Melbourne managing partner Bill Papastergiadis OAM said Sumskas shares the firm's client-focused ethos and expertise.

He added: “Jonathan's skills and experience complement our already strong offering in our insurance and construction teams.  He will be a great asset to our clients in this space. We are thrilled to welcome him back to the firm.”

Moray & Agnew has been making appointment sprees recently despite the COVID-19 pandemic. In late 2021, it announced a senior promotion spree across the country and welcomed new partners and lawyers to its Perth team. Early this year, it strengthened its Sydney office's insurance practice by appointing a new partner.
