The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has issued a media release noting the recent passing of Emma Keegan (main picture). Keegan was head of sales operations at Gallagher and co-vice chair of NIBAʼs Victorian Committee.

“Emma was a formidable advocate for her peers and an inspiring leader to many,” said NIBA’s release, describing her as a distinguished and highly respected leader.

“Deeply immersed in the Victorian broking community, she will be remembered by her peers not just for her professional accomplishments, but also for her warmth, generosity, and tireless commitment to elevating the broking profession,” said the release.

Kevin Baker, chair of NIBAʼs VIC/TAS Divisional Committee, said Keegan was a dear friend and colleague.

“Someone who brought genuine passion, energy and enthusiasm to everything she did,” said Baker. “She cared deeply about the Victorian broking community and all the people lucky enough to meet her along the way.”

NIBA’s CEO Richard Klipin offered his condolences on behalf of the association.

"Her loss will be felt by all of us in the broking community,” said Klipin. “On behalf of NIBA, I extend our sincere condolences to Emmaʼs family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time."

Two months ago, Keegan announced her first day of a 12-month break from work.

“I’ve been living with incurable cancer for 4 years now so it’s time to put all my energy into my health so I can be the best version of myself,” she said in a LinkedIn post. “That translates to lots of exercise, travelling and doing the things I love with the people I love.”
