An insurance specialist for trucks and heavy motor vehicles has announced the launch of a new technology that will enhance 24-hour roadside-assistance service delivery and safety for customers and service providers.

Truck Assist: Powered by nti has launched a new app via Truck Assist Roadside that will enable customers to monitor the location of their service technician in the event of a breakdown.

The new app features text-message notification for customers with a link that opens the map application, the ability to view the real-time location of the service technician en route to the breakdown site and monitor his travel and arrival time, and a customer feedback and survey rating system.

“We’re facilitating better service efficiencies, reducing uncertainty, and offering peace of mind – especially for those operating in remote areas or outside of typical work hours,” nti CEO Tony Clark said.

The app will also benefit service providers and their employers.

“Safety and security for service providers was equally important in developing the innovation, and is a key component of the app,” Clark said. “For example, prior to commencing repairs at the roadside, service providers must first complete a site safety checklist via the app to ensure their own and others’ safety.”

The app is currently being rolled out to Truck Assist's national network of dealers and service providers.
