National Transport Insurance (NTI) has become an associate member of the Australian Trucking Association (ATA), which represents the 50,000 businesses and 211,500 people in the Australian trucking industry.

This strengthened partnership with ATA enables the specialist transport and logistics insurer to participate in the development of internal committees, such as the industry technical council and the ATA general council.

“Being accepted as an associate member of the ATA extends on our foundation sponsor position that we’ve proudly held for the past 30 years and assists in achieving our vision of a safer and more sustainable future,” said Michael Edmonds, general manager of commercial at NTI.

Geoff Crouch, ATA chair, said NTI has been a long-standing supporter of ATA initiatives to improve industry safety, professionalism, and viability.

“One of the most exciting of these initiatives is our redesigned Safety Truck, to be launched later this year,” Crouch said. “This campaign will use state-of-the-art technology to educate young drivers and vulnerable road users about how they can share the road safely with trucks.”

NTI also sponsors the ATA’s National Trucking Industry Awards, which recognises businesses and individuals who go above and beyond to improve their workplace and the trucking industry.
