Property underwriting manager promoted to new role

A state manager for a specialist insurer has been boosted into a newly-created national role that the insurer hopes will continue the growth of its portfolio.

ACE Group has appointed David Gibbs to the new role of deputy property manager – Australia, which has been created to support the ongoing growth and success ot its property portfolio.

Gibbs has been property underwriting manager – Victoria since 2012, and will continue on in this role alongside his new position.

His career at ACE includes stints working in Perth and Melbourne. Starting as property underwriter, Victoria in 2005, Gibbs was promoted in 2009 and transferred to Perth as underwriting manager – property, tech lines & energy.

Country president for ACE in Australia & New Zealand, John French said: “ACE plays a leading role in setting the insurance terms on many of Australia’s largest commercial property accounts. The creation of this new role and the appointment of David Gibbs will strengthen our capabilities in a product line that is core to our operations.”
