QBE Foundation and Sydney Swans Foundation, the respective charitable arms of the insurance titan and the football club, are set to score big this weekend thanks to QBE’s pledge to donate $1,000 for every Sydney Swans goal kicked at their match against the Gold Coasts Suns this Sunday.
The funds raised will be split evenly between the two foundations, with QBE set to distribute the funds to charity partners and causes, bringing its philanthropic contributions to more than $600,000 for the year to date.
“This weekend’s ‘Goals for Good’ initiative raises funds that will go toward truly worthwhile causes and is a fantastic example of the way we work so proudly with the Swans to achieve this objective,” said Bettina Pidcock, QBE Foundation chair.
Pidcock said the match is also an opportunity for QBE to give back to volunteers and employees from QBE Foundation’s charity partners.
“Excitingly, our charity partners will join us in the clubroom this weekend to cheer on the Swans at this very special game and be treated to a much-deserved night of fun as a small way to acknowledge the incredible contributions they make to the very worthy causes they champion,” she said.
