QBE has announced the appointment of Andrew Broughton as executive general manager for Corporate Partners and Direct.

Broughton will commence his new role in January 2017, following his relocation to Sydney from the UK. He will be reporting directly to Tim Plant, CEO of QBE’s Australian and New Zealand Division.

Broughton has more than 15 years’ experience in the insurance sector, in both Australia and the UK markets across both commercial and personal lines. He is currently the director for Commercial & Brokers Markets for Allianz Insurance. His most recent local position was as national director for Allianz’s Cluster Groups and National Partners.

“I have long admired and respected QBE as a competitor both in Australia and the UK and I look forward to contributing to the ambitious strategy that has been outlined for QBE Australia and New Zealand,” said Broughton.

“I am delighted to welcome Andrew to QBE, with his strong local experience and international perspective,” said Plant.

“We are pleased to have someone of his calibre join our team to help shape the future of Corporate Partners & Direct business units, including Direct, Travel, Elders, Motor Trades & CTP, LMI, and Financial Institutions businesses. I’m confident that Andrew will make a valuable contribution to the ANZO Executive team in addition to bringing a strong track record of delivering excellent customer service propositions and profitable growth.”
