Following on from the announcement in April of this year that Jason Harris (pictured) will be taking on the role of QBE CEO, International, which includes its European operations, from Richard Pryce, QBE the firm now confirmed Harris’s arrival this month.

Harris will be working alongside Pryce, who will be retiring in Q1 2021, to enable a smooth and orderly transition into the full role as soon as possible, subject to regulatory approvals.

Harris, who is an underwriter by background, joins QBE from AXA XL and has held a variety of senior global roles throughout his career to date. Commenting on his new role, Harris said that QBE International is a tremendous business with a strong track record of performance, a clear focus on underwriting discipline and a dedication to exemplary customer service.

He said: “I look forward to getting to know and working alongside the team to continue to build on an impressive legacy that has the customer at the heart of everything.”

Meanwhile, Pryce noted that Harris is known for his leadership qualities and dedication to building a collaborative workplace which, combined with his technical expertise will ensure the continued success of QBE’s International division. He said: “I am proud of what we have achieved, and I am confident I am leaving the business in good hands.”
