Queensland reconstruction CEO to set up crisis management centre

The Queensland Reconstruction Authority CEO is taking up a new crisis management role at a global financial services advisory and consultancy business.

Queensland Reconstruction Authority CEO Graeme Newton has been appointed to lead Deloitte Australia’s crisis management business and set up a centre for excellence for crisis management for the South East Asia region.

Newton joins Deloitte’s risk services business. He will serve on the Deloitte Global Centre for Crisis Management team which assists the public and private sectors prepare, respond and recover from crises.

Little has been said on the crisis management centre in S.E. Asia.

However Newton said he is looking forward to taking on the role as “integrator between Australia, S.E. Asia, and the huge reach Deloitte has in this field globally".

He added: “I see the opportunity to make a significant difference when it comes to crisis and, disaster management and preparedness in particular.”
