Truck insurer underwriting manager steps down

After 15 years in the job, the underwriting boss is calling it a day but his successor is well-placed to take up the reigns, bringing 20 years’ industry experience to the role.

After more than 15 years leading the NTI underwriting team in Western Australia, Graham Bentley is retiring at the end of this financial year.

Gary Woodhams will replace Bentley, commencing early next financial year.  He spent seven years in the international broking market and has more than 20 years’ industry experience.

Woodhams has experience in leading teams at the national, regional and local level.  In these roles he looked after multi product offerings but he always kept a personal focus on Motor and in particular heavy motor and plant.

His previous roles with Zurich Australia included Regional underwriting manager WA/SA, national underwriting manager – Motor, regional underwriting manager WA/SA Motor, as well as fleet and transport manager WA.

NTI thanked Bentley for is contribution to the company. “He is highly regarded in the WA market, and is one of the real experts in the NTI business,” WA State manager Bruce McAleese added. “NTI wishes Graham all the best in his retirement and will ensure that he remains a close friend of NTI moving forward”.

Welcoming Woodhams, Mike Edmonds, general manager of sales & distribution said the insurer was “excited” to have him on board.
