Insurance giant Suncorp has announced the two lucky startups who secured a place in its inaugural digital incubator program, based at its Digital Labs in Brisbane.

The 90-day program, opened in May, offers local fintech and insurtech startups the opportunity to test and validate their ideas and gain access to mentors, designers, data/APIs, and experts across technology and business.

Eggy, an app that manages, stores, and retrieves life admin documents, and can automatically add information to the user’s calendar (e.g. insurance renewal dates), and Paypa Plane, which links customer accounts and business accounts through a payment request and agreement flow (e.g. recurring gym payments), were selected from more than 50 startups applying for the opportunity to participate in the program.

“I'm thrilled that we are working with some truly brilliant businesses to foster innovation in Queensland and within our industry,” said Sarah Harland, Suncorp’s chief information officer. “I’m keen to see how these two winning concepts develop over the coming months. I would like to thank the seven finalists for their exceptional entries, and to congratulate the winners, Eggy and Paypa Plane.”
