Mark Oatway, new head of corporate broking at Arthur J. Gallagher Australia, says the brokerage’s abilities are better than ever, now that the brokerage and OAMPS have come together.

Oatway is currently national practice leader for corporate and natural resource clients Arthur J. Gallagher in Australia. He takes on the new role from 1 October and will be charged with managing OAMPS and Arthur J. Gallagher corporate teams.

Praising the brokerage’s abilities, he said: “Our ability to understand our clients' needs, provide best-in-class solutions and attract talent to our team has never been greater."

Oatway told Insurance Business that combing the two teams is “very exciting”: "In terms of our corporate capability, combining the breadth of experience, depth of knowledge and track record of our brokers from OAMPS and Arthur J. Gallagher is very exciting for us. It's fair to say we already feel like one team, and a stronger one at that.”

Joining Oatway on the newly-shuffled executive management team is Ross Castle, current head of corporate broking at OAMPS. He will assume the role of head of insurer relationships and markets; and head of commercial broking, Sarah Lyons will also become chief operating officer, where she will assume responsibility for the Australian branch network and associated operations.

Arthur J. Gallagher completed the acquisition of Wesfarmers’ broking and premium funding arms in June.
