Global advisory, broking, and solutions company Willis Towers Watson has announced the appointment of Darren Oliver as national manager, workplace risk.

In a statement, the company said Oliver will bring expertise in the corporate market, having provided strategic workplace advice to public and private companies.

Chris Nelson, head of client and industry Australasia, said that the appointment of Oliver will bring "considerable benefit," to clients and help boost the "already strong market presence" held by the firm.

Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, Oliver was founder and managing director at people insurance and employee benefit specialist company Thomas James International. He also worked as head of practice at Aon, responsible for providing strategic workers’ compensation and work health and safety solutions.

Oliver said in a statement that Willis Towers Watson is in a unique position in the market thanks to the merger of the two brands.

"With the integration of the two organisations earlier this year, we have an unparalleled combination of analytics and benchmarking to offer our clients, as well as innovations in client accessibility. I’m excited to be offering these strategies to the market," Oliver said.
