Global claims services provider McLarens has announced a new head of its Australia operations. Torben Bell (main picture) is the new managing director, assuming the role previously held by Martyn Wicht who was promoted to APAC managing director last year.
“Torben’s expertise means he is a great fit for the team and I look forward to working with him to support our continued growth,” said Wicht in a media release.
He referred to McLaren’s significant growth during the past decade and the increasing demand from clients in the commercial and specialty risk markets.
The release also mentioned Bell’s experience managing and investigating major and complex losses, including in construction and engineering, energy, mining and property.
The new Australia MD referred to McLaren’s “reputation for quality service, technical excellence and investing in their people.”
The firm also recently acquired Property & Forensic Assessing (PFA), a Melbourne-based loss adjusting firm specialising in construction, commercial property and financial loss claims. The release said that firm’s leader, Terry Hogan, will now report to Bell.
