Australian Trades and Construction (ATC) Insurance Solutions, one of the largest Lloyd’s underwriting agencies in Australia, has been named one of Insurance Business Australia’s 5-Star Cyber 2023 winners.

Insurance Business Australia interviewed experts at ATC to learn more about the company’s offerings and what made it stand out among its competitors and earn a 5-Star Cyber 2023 award.
Jenny Whitby, national cyber manager at ATC, believes it stands out with its breach response.
“Even though cyber insurance is really tech-heavy, the human element is still so incredibly important to help people put their minds at ease when they really need it the most,” Whitby told Insurance Business Australia. “When a building is burning down, it’s very obvious what’s happening, and we know what we need to do to fix that, and we know that we can rebuild the roof. Whereas when it comes to a cyber incident, people often don’t have a clue what’s going on, and they feel helpless from that perspective.”
Aside from helping organisations respond to a data breach, ATC helps its broker partners overcome client resistance to the product.
“Clients are still quite reluctant to purchase cyber insurance, so it’s really important for us as underwriters to help our broker partners train and talk to them about how to best explain the policies and the product to their clients,” Whitby said.
