Zurich Financial Services Australia has entered an underwriting agreement with Elkington Bishop Molineaux Insurance Brokers to provide security for its brand, RentCover Landlords Insurance.

Founded in 1991, RentCover created one of Australia's first landlord insurance policies. It currently works with landlords and property professionals to protect around 165,000 Australian customers.

As part of the agreement, Zurich will underwrite RentCover's full product range, including landlord insurance policies for short- and long-term rentals, starting Dec. 1.

Alex Morgan, head of general insurance at Zurich Australia and New Zealand, said Zurich and RentCover are both committed to providing customers with market-leading protection and best-in-class service.

“We are excited to work alongside RentCover to deliver leading insurance products for the real estate industry,” Morgan said. “RentCover is a highly professional team and has a deep affinity with the residential property market.”

“We recognise Zurich as a business that goes above and beyond to protect the people who put their trust in them,” said Sharon Fox-Slater, managing director of RentCover. “We do the same. We look forward to working with Zurich to shape a future in which our businesses, our clients, and our people thrive.”

The latest agreement expands Zurich's long-term partnership with EBM, which has seen the insurance giant provide capacity for its Coverlink brand since 2022. It also follows Zurich's partnership with KMPG Switzerland to provide comprehensive climate change advisory services.
