AIA NZ has announced the appointment of Calvin Romeo as head of ASB partnership.

Romeo, who has been with AIA NZ for more than four years, was previously strategy and delivery manager for the firm. In this role, he drove programs to support distribution partners including ASB. Prior to this, he served as a business development manager for AIA’s ASB bancassurance team.

According to his LinkedIn, Romeo also worked as an immigration officer for the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment. He also held previous roles at Sovereign (which was acquired by AIA Group), House of Travel, and Tegel Foods. He holds a bachelor of commerce in marketing, finance and sales degree from the Auckland University of Technology.

AIA NZ chief partnership distribution officer Sharron Botica said that Romeo knows the ASB business well, and is expected to bring great energy, drive, and passion to support the partnership further.

“AIA NZ has a strong 25-year distribution partnership with ASB. This role plays an essential part in connecting with and supporting the ASB team to help make New Zealand one of the healthiest and best protected nations in the world,” Botica said.
