AIG Insurance New Zealand has appointed Bhairav Shah as head of liabilities and financial lines, New Zealand.

In his new role, Shah will be responsible for providing leadership, focus, and clear strategic direction to the liabilities and financial lines team.

“I’m truly excited to have Bhairav join AIG New Zealand, and I’m confident that he will be a tremendous asset to our business with his proven ability and experience,” AIG NZ chief executive officer Elliot Hill said. “I am looking forward to working with him on executing our strategy for the LFL business.”

Shah will be joining the firm from AIG Australia, where he has worked for the past nine years. His most recent role saw him work as corporate national client director for AIG. Prior to this, Shah held underwriting and business development roles for Allianz and Sportscover. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science from University of Queensland, Australia.

Shah will move into his new role on September 01.
