Travel insurance provider Allianz Worldwide Partners New Zealand has added more personnel to its local team as part of its ongoing commitment to maintain support for corporate and retail travel partners.

Allianz appointed Bronwyn Thornton-Hume as account manager and Amy Neilson as marketing manager.

“This has been an incredible year and must be one of the busiest on record for Kiwis heading overseas,” Allianz chief sales officer Will Ashcroft said. “Our new appointments will help to further increase our support to partners.”

Thornton-Hume joined the company in November. Allianz said she is well-placed to provide advice on the importance of travel insurance.

In her new role, Thornton-Hume will be responsible for increasing business growth for retail travel agents across the country, which she will do through face-to-face meetings with travel agents, sales support and in-store product training.

“I’m incredibly excited to be part of this team, and I look forward to building strong working relationships with our partners and sharing my knowledge of the travel insurance industry with others,” Thornton-Hume said.

Neilson joined the team as marketing manager to provide added marketing support to partners. Her responsibilities will include end-to-end marketing support, developing and implementing marketing strategies, campaign design and recommendations to support all lines of business.

“Only a few weeks in, following a move from the UK and I’m already enjoying my time here,” Neilson said. “I look forward to applying the knowledge I’ve gained from my time in travel to working with the company’s brilliant partners, helping them engage their customers and ultimately achieve their commercial goals.”

These new team members form part of the additional 12 positions across the company’s sales and operations departments.
