Insurance Business has launched the 2026 Brokers on Underwriting Agencies, inviting brokers across New Zealand to recognise the underwriting agencies that have delivered exceptional service and support over the past year.
The survey aims to provide an independent benchmark of underwriting agency performance based on broker experience and feedback. It asks brokers to evaluate agencies on factors including broker support, responsiveness, technical expertise, service levels and product offerings.
Last year’s inaugural report highlighted the growing role that underwriting agencies play within New Zealand's insurance sector. Finding that a total of 91% of brokers are very likely to keep working with agencies even when capacity returns, underscoring the strength of broker-agency relationships.
According to the report, brokers increasingly value underwriting partners that combine specialist expertise with responsive service and long-term collaboration.
Survey results will be used to identify the underwriting agencies that are setting the benchmark for excellence across the industry.
Complete the survey by Friday, August 14.
Brokers on Underwriting Agencies 2026 will be published on the Insurance Business website in December.
