Chubb has announced the return of an industry stalwart to its general insurance line as Ben Carey takes up the role of head of field operation, Asia Pacific beginning Q1 2024.

In this newly created role, Carey will be responsible for the insurer’s field organisation in the region, comprising 12 markets and 69 branch offices, to deliver a portfolio of capabilities and services to agency and broker distribution partners.

Carey comes to the role with more than 20 years of experience working in senior management and underwriting roles. He previously worked at Everest, where he was the regional head of insurance for Asia and chief executive for Singapore. According to his LinkedIn, Carey had a prior 19-year career at Chubb where he worked in various roles across Asia and Australia, most recently as senior vice president and head of corporate A&H business for Chubb Overseas General.

Carey will be based in Singapore and report to Chubb Asia Pacific regional president Paul McNamee. He will also join the insurer’s Asia Pacific executive committee.

“Ben is a respected leader and skilled insurance practitioner, and we are thrilled that he will be returning to Chubb. As Head of Field Operations for Asia Pacific, he will be responsible for performance across all our branches, delivering the best of Chubb to our core distribution partners who are so critical to our success,” McNamee said.
