New Zealand-based insurance brokerage Crombie Lockwood has announced its rebranding, now operating under the name Gallagher Insurance.

The broker was acquired by Gallagher 10 years ago. Gallagher Asia Pacific managing director Steve Lockwood said that now is the right time to adopt the global broker’s title in New Zealand.

“The current New Zealand insurance market has challenges with capacity, coverage, terms and pricing and we need to look further afield for options and solutions for our clients. We can do that better operating under the globally recognised Gallagher brand,” Lockwood said in a news release.

The newly rebranded firm will continue to operate with a fully autonomous NZ executive led by Carl O’Shea, Crombie Lockwood CEO. O’Shea noted that the company’s culture and values align with Gallagher, with the latter being named as one of the world’s most ethical companies for over a decade.

Gallagher Insurance’s new brand also kicks off the inaugural global women’s international rugby tournament – WXV 1 – which will be held in New Zealand from Oct. 20. Gallagher is partnered with World Rugby and is an official partner of Women’s Rugby and Rugby World Cup 2025.
