Delta Insurance has been named as Insurer of the Year at the Insurance Advisernet NZ Awards 2018, for the second year running.

“We were thrilled to win this award again, backing it up to make it two years in a row,” Delta Insurance general manager Craig Kirk said. “As a business, we are incredibly focussed on innovation, quality of product, relationships and service and it is very rewarding to have our offering validated by our business partners in such a manner.”

Delta Insurance topped the category, which was based on a survey conducted by Insurance Advisernet member brokers, with NZI and Vero Liability as close contenders. The awards, Kirk said, assess insurers on eight factors including service, quality of product and flexibility.

“I understand that Delta came first in seven of the eight categories,” he added. “This is a fantastic endorsement of our team.”

Additionally, Delta Insurance senior underwriter and casualty manager Dinesh Murali bagged the Insurance Person of the Year award.

“This is a fantastic acknowledgement of Dinesh’s hard work and commitment, and is thoroughly deserved,” Kirk noted.

Delta Insurance said it has a number of initiatives planned for the rest of the year that the market can look forward to.

Other winners included Donaldson Brown Insurance Brokers as the Broker of the Year and Guardian Insurance Brokers’ James McCarthy as Emerging Broker of the Year.

The conference, held at the Hilton in Taupo, was attended by nearly 140 delegates and sponsors and raised over $50,000 for charity, Insurance Advisernet NZ director David Crawford added.
