Jo Mason has resigned from her role as NZI’s general manager corporate and facilities after nearly 30 years with the company.

Mason is leaving to take up a Sydney-based role, still in insurance, but not within IAG.

NZI’s executive general manager, Travis Atkinson, said Mason had been an integral part of the NZI team for almost 30 years and had made a significant contribution to the business over that time.

Most recently she helped to bring together the NZI and Lumley insurance teams following IAG’s acquisition of the Wesfarmers insurance business.

“Jo is highly respected by internal colleagues, staff and external partners and we wish her well for her career move and relocation,” Atkinson said.

Her latest role involved five key areas of responsibility: the leadership and management of the Corporate, Aon CPF, Small Business Unit, Priority Accounts and Commercial Schemes.

Previous to that the positions she held included GM corporate niche and facilities, GM distribution for NZI and broker management in New Zealand and Australia.

Mason is also a senior associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and a member of the ANZIIF Women’s Council.

Atkinson said that Michael Carswell, currently NZI’s national manager corporate trading, will assume the role of GM corporate and facilities in an acting capacity with immediate effect.
