The Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) has expanded its partnership network by welcoming Marsh as an insurance partner.

Through a recent press conference, FRU administrator Simione Valenitabua announced that both male and female national players will now have insurance coverage for injuries sustained during overseas games.

In a report from FBC News, Valenitabua expressed the significance of this move in terms of insurance and noted that while the specific terms and conditions remain confidential, the partnership marks the beginning of a promising collaboration between Marsh and Fiji Rugby.

“It’s such a big part of the Fijian community, everyday life, and the passion. So, we are really proud, and we look forward to a long-standing relationship so thank you very much,” Marsh Fiji country head and CEO Patrick Anthes said.

For local competitions, the FRU already has its own insurance partner, with the union working to expand this coverage to include Deans and Raluve competitions. Valenitabua underscored that this move aligns with their holistic development approach as they build a new structure at Rugby House.

Elsewhere for the global broker, IB New Zealand recently sat down with Marsh McLennan New Zealand CEO Josh Roach to talk about his new role as well as his top agenda in his current capacity.
