Financial Advice New Zealand has announced the opening of nominations for the 2024 Financial Advice New Zealand Awards, an event that honours remarkable achievements in the financial services sector.

Outgoing CEO Katrina Shanks said that these awards provide a platform to celebrate outstanding contributions in a rapidly evolving industry that has confronted numerous challenges in recent years. The accolades acknowledge those individuals and organisations that have excelled and made a positive impact in the sector and for the people of New Zealand.

The awards are open to all members of Financial Advice New Zealand, and nominations are invited from all quarters – individuals, organisations, or anyone wishing to put forward a candidate from the sector. The winners in six categories will be unveiled at the THRIVE Conference scheduled for March 5, 2024 in Wellington.

2024 Financial Advice NZ Awards categories

  • Volunteer of the Year Award – this award acknowledges the dedication and commitment demonstrated by an individual towards Financial Advice New Zealand membership and the broader sector
  • Community Impact Award – recognising exceptional accomplishments in enhancing community well-being, this award celebrates the efforts of an individual or organisation in positively impacting community outcomes
  • Outstanding Digital Innovation Award – this category commends those who have leveraged digital platforms to enhance access to financial information, fostering engagement and connectivity with their intended audience and community
  • Pinnacle Mark Recognition Award – this award lauds the effective use of the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, CERTIFIED LIFE UNDERWRITER, and/or Trusted Adviser marks as tools advocating quality advice
  • Financial Literacy Advocacy Award – presented to individuals or organisations dedicated to promoting financial literacy and education, this award acknowledges those who have played a pivotal role in imparting financial knowledge to empower others in making informed financial decisions.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award – this accolade recognises individuals whose careers or lifetimes have been marked by significant contributions, outstanding achievements, leadership, and a positive impact within a specific field, industry, or community

The detailed criteria for judging and nomination forms can be found on the Financial Advice NZ website, with nominations closing on Jan. 22, 2024.
