ICNZ reveals initial speakers for conference

The minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery, Hon Gerry Brownlee, is appearing at this year’s Insurance Council of New Zealand (ICNZ) conference as a keynote speaker.

Brownlee has been asked to give his views on risk reduction and disaster management in the future reflecting on the roles of EQC and CERA at the Sky City event.

Other confirmed speakers include Louise Hanson, the director of advocacy for the Association of British Insurers, whose previous role was director of advocacy for Which?, the British equivalent of Consumer NZ.

Sue Chetwin, the CE of Consumer NZ and David Caygill, who peer reviewed the Fair Insurance Code, will also be speaking and taking part in a panel discussion with Louise Hanson.
Professor Allan Manning of the LMI Group, will share his research on emerging and structural changes for the industry.

ICNZ is also looking to its own to share their knowledge and wisdom at the event being held on 11 November 2015.

Former communications manager and current partner with PR agency Senate SHJ Samson Samasoni will provide insights on the industry’s management of reputation while Dave Ashton, who runs ICNZ’s Insurance Claims Register, will give insights into fraud detection.

A leading international reinsurer is also being lined up to give a perspective on developments in the global reinsurance market.
