Award-winning insurance law firm DAC Beachcroft New Zealand has revealed its membership of a newly-formed global alliance of four of the world’s leading insurance law firms.
Legalign Global comprises founding member firms DAC Beachcroft (UK), Wilson Elser (US), BLD Bach Langheid Dallmayr (Germany) and Wotton + Kearney (Australia) and has been set up in response to the growing multinational insurance market and its associated legal needs.
DAC Beachcroft NZ managing partner Antony Holden said the aim of the alliance was to ‘deliver services seamlessly across jurisdictions by best-in-region- law firms sharing consistent, unparalleled service standards’.
“There are real synergies between our respective clients, our capabilities and our firm cultures,” he said.
Legalign Global will focus on three primary areas: Insurance/Reinsurance Coverage, Insurance/Reinsurance Defence and Insurance Regulatory & Compliance.

Holden explained why the move was great for clients.
“All four Legalign Global member firms are already recognised as best-in-class in their respective markets and will work together to meet mutual clients’ business needs.
“Key to the unique offering of the Legalign model is the vast intellectual capital related to insurance, which combines local insight with international reach, cost efficiencies and innovative claims solutions.
“We are excited about the opportunities Legalign Global will bring to our clients and to our people.
“This collaborative and agile arrangement gives DAC Beachcroft New Zealand even more global scope and offers our clients a consistent, high-quality service, whatever and wherever their needs.”
He added: “We can’t wait to build on what we have already achieved.”
DAC Beachcroft was recently named Specialist Insurance Law Firm of the Year 2016 at the 12th annual New Zealand Law Awards, the second time in a row the firm had won that title.
Holden also received a Highly Commended in the Managing Partner of the Year (less than 100 employees) category.
