Chubb has announced the appointment of Scott Pickering as an independent director to its board of directors in New Zealand.

Pickering is currently CEO of the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) and has previously held executive leadership roles for Willis International and RSA Insurance Group.

He also worked for ACE Insurance Ltd in various management roles from 1989 to 2005.

His appointment as an independent director was made to take advantage of Pickering’s wealth of global insurance industry experience, Chubb said.

It will include supporting the Chubb management team on issues relating to strategy, performance and resources of the local business.

Incoming country president for Chubb in Australia and New Zealand, John French, said he was delighted Pickering had accepted the role.

“He is a highly respected insurance executive and I look forward to his counsel on matters of strategic importance to Chubb New Zealand.”
