Major brokerage’s new chairman of specialty to accelerate its business growth

Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc (JLT), specialty-focused provider of insurance, reinsurance, and employee benefit-related advice, brokerage, and associated services, has announced the appointment of its new chairman of specialty in Australia.

Tony Barber will take on his new role in March 2017, and will be responsible for leading JLT’s business development. He will report to Leo Demer, CEO of JLT Australia and New Zealand.

Barber will join from Willis Towers Watson where he was most recently chairman and CEO of its Australasian business. He also worked at Aon Risk Solutions for more than three years and has held a variety of roles at Willis’ Australian business from 1998 to 2009.
