Lockton has announced the appointment of Byron Clymer (pictured) as its chief information officer. In his new role, Clymer will oversee strategic information-technology initiatives for the company. He will report to Said Taiym, Lockton’s chief digital officer.

“We’re excited to welcome Byron to Lockton,” Taiym said. “This is an important time in Lockton’s history as we continue to invest in technology solutions to better meet the needs of our clients and our associates. Byron is a dynamic CIO with a diverse background. His outside perspective and solutions-oriented approach in leading large-scale IT transformations and initiatives make him the right person to help fuel Lockton’s growth.”

Clymer brings to the company 25 years of technology, leadership and management experience that spans the spectrum of IT, the company said.

“Byron brings a Fortune 500 background and unique expertise in IT, business operations and management that will give him the ability to connect with teams throughout Lockton,” said Peter Clune, US president and chief operating officer for Lockton. “His experience across a wide range of industries implementing short-term solutions and long-term strategies will be critical to Lockton’s transformation and growth.”

In 2016, Clymer founded Approach Logic consulting services to help business leaders navigate the IT industry. Prior to that, he served as CIO for FreightQuote.com. He has also served as vice president of IT operations at CenturyLink and EMBARQ.
