Insurance broker and risk advisor Marsh has appointed Marcus Pearson as Country Head of New Zealand.

Pearson will report to Scott Leney, CEO Pacific Region, and be based in Marsh’s Auckland office.

In addition to New Zealand, Pearson will also oversee Marsh in Fiji and work closely with Marsh Fiji Country Head, Daniel Yee.

Pearson brings over 20 years of leadership experience to the role, most recently as Managing Director, Business Development and Trading Board Member of Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) Australia.

Prior to joining JLT, Pearson held several senior client-facing roles at Marsh Australia, including Practice Leader, Competitive Strategy, and Managing Principal, focusing on large corporate clients.

Commenting on the appointment, Leney said: “Marcus’ broad experience, people skills, and exemplary track record in securing growth makes him a great choice to lead our New Zealand business and oversee our Fijian operations. I am pleased to welcome him back to Marsh.”

“I look forward to working with Scott and the New Zealand and Fiji leadership teams to provide strategic and differentiated value to our clients in the Pacific region,” said Pearson.

Leney added: “Now more than ever, our clients need trusted advisors to help them manage today’s risks, as well as anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Marcus’ appointment demonstrates our focus on attracting the best talent in the industry.”

Pearson appointment is effective 31 January 2017.
